Website hosting — rules & terms

Last updated 11 September 2026. These are the rules for hosting your virtual airline's website on Waypoint. They're written in plain English — that's deliberate, and the English version is the one that governs. By turning on a waypoint-live.app address (or connecting your own domain) you agree to them on behalf of your airline.

1.What we host, and for whom

Waypoint gives your virtual airline a free public website and crew centre under a waypoint-live.app address, and optionally your own domain. It's free, and it's meant for genuine Infinite Flight virtual airlines and the flight-sim community — your fleet, routes, events, roster, media, and the pages you build. It is not general-purpose web hosting: it's for your airline's site, not for file storage, redirects, proxies, or unrelated projects.

The service is provided as it is, for free. We may change, limit, or discontinue it, and we don't promise any particular uptime.

2.Your site is your responsibility

Everything you publish — text, images, video, logos, forms, links, and anything your staff upload — is your content and your responsibility. You confirm you have the right to use it and that it follows these rules and the law. Waypoint hosts it; we don't author it and we don't endorse it.

3.What you may publish

Content about and for your virtual airline and the Infinite Flight community: your brand, fleet and liveries, routes and schedules, events and tours, staff and pilots, news, galleries, and ways for people to join or get in touch.

4.What isn't allowed

You may not use a Waypoint-hosted site to publish or do any of the following:

  • Anything illegal, or content that promotes or facilitates illegal activity.
  • Hateful, harassing, threatening, or violent content; content that sexualises or endangers minors; pornographic or sexually explicit material.
  • Impersonation — passing yourself off as a real-world airline, company, person, another virtual airline, or as Waypoint or Infinite Flight, in a way meant to deceive.
  • Malware, phishing, scams, fake stores, credential or payment harvesting, or anything designed to deceive or defraud visitors.
  • Spam, misleading SEO tricks, cloaking, or bulk automated content.
  • Content that infringes someone else's copyright, trademark, or other rights — only upload images, logos, video, and text you're allowed to use.
  • Unlawful collection or handling of visitors' personal data.
  • Using the hosting for anything other than your airline's website — no general file hosting, link shorteners, proxies, mining, or unrelated sites.
  • Deliberately abusing resources: excessive uploads, automated hammering, or attempts to break, overload, or circumvent limits and security.

5.Other people's brands, and Infinite Flight

Respect trademarks and brands, including real airlines and Infinite Flight itself. Don't imply that your virtual airline is an official, endorsed, or affiliated part of a real-world company, of Infinite Flight, or of Waypoint unless that's genuinely true. Only upload logos and media you have permission to use.

6.Visitors' data and privacy

If your site collects information from visitors — for example through an apply form or a contact form — you are responsible for how that data is used and for complying with applicable privacy law. Waypoint stores and delivers that data to you as part of running the service; you decide what you ask for and why. Don't collect sensitive personal data, and don't ask for passwords, payment details, or government IDs.

The same applies to your crew centre: the members' data you collect there (flight reports, applications, e-mail addresses your members give you for news, contact-form and newsletter sign-ups on your site) is processed by Waypoint on your instructions and on your behalf. You decide what you collect and how you use it; Waypoint stores it, delivers it to you and sends mails you write, and uses it for nothing else. Waypoint's sub-processors for this are Hetzner (hosting, Germany), Cloudflare (network, database and file storage) and Brevo (e-mail, EU). Addresses are confirmed by double opt-in before any mail is sent; every mail Waypoint sends carries an unsubscribe link, and when you mail an exported newsletter list with your own tool you must include the unsubscribe link the export gives you for each address. When a member leaves your airline, deletes their account or unsubscribes, their data is removed.

7.Moderation, reports, and takedowns

Anyone can report a hosted site from its footer. We review reports and may remove content or suspend a site — with or without notice — if we believe it breaks these rules or the law, or if we're legally required to. Serious or repeated violations can mean permanent removal of the site and, where warranted, of the airline's access.

We try to be fair and to tell you why, but the final call on what we host is ours. This isn't censorship of opinion — it's keeping a shared, free platform safe and legal.

8.Your data stays yours

You own your content. You can export everything — roster, routes, reports, events, and pages — at any time from the crew centre, and you can turn your website off whenever you want. There's no lock-in; that's a promise, not a feature. If we ever discontinue hosting, we'll give you a reasonable way to take your data with you.

9.No warranty, and limits of liability

The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Waypoint isn't liable for losses arising from your use of the hosting, from content you or your visitors publish, or from downtime or data loss. You're responsible for keeping your own copy of anything you can't afford to lose — the export tools are there for exactly that.

10.Changes to these rules

We may update these rules as the platform grows or the law requires. The date at the top shows the current version. If a change is significant, we'll try to flag it. Continuing to host your site after a change means you accept the updated rules.

11.Questions or reports

Reach us on the Waypoint Discord, or use the report link in any hosted site's footer. We read them.
